Distracted driving has become an acceptable risk that is taken all too frequently. Cell phones are the most common distraction although; there are a number of others. Statistics show that texting and driving is as fatal as drinking and driving as Nick Jarmusz, AAA Safety Representative says. In fact, you are 23 times more likely to be in an accident if you are texting while driving. If you are elderly and not willing to give up your keys it can also be just as risky. Something else to consider with car safety is vehicle maintenance. Pam Oakes, National Automotive Authority knows firsthand that the smallest of details can make the biggest difference with maintenance and car safety. Never forget when driving a car, you are operating a machine and rarely if ever, are the only one on the road.
